My Name is Charlene: The Story of a Special Little GirlRegular price $12.95 Save $-12.95
My Name is Charlene: The Story of a Special Little Girl is the story of Charlene Richard, the "Little Cajun Saint" from Richard, Louisiana.
From the Charlene Richard Foundation:
Charlene was born January 13, 1947. After being diagnosed with acute lymphatic leukemia, she died on August 11, 1959, at the age of 12. During her confinement in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, LA, Charlene would offer her prayers and suffering to God each day for the benefit of others.
"She was a faith-filled little girl", said Fr Joseph Brennan, a priest for the Diocese of Lafayette, LA, who was serving as hospital chaplain and ministered to Charlene during her final days. "I see Charlene as a witness for people of all ages to the power of resignation and acceptance of God's will", said Fr Brennan. "She wasn't different in any way except that when the crisis came in her life - and it came very early - she accepted it with faith and trust and love."
In his estate, Fr. Brennan left the copyright and proceeds of this book to Crossroads Catholic Bookstore, which now operates as Crossroads Collective, a social enterprise of Catholic Charities of Acadiana. All proceeds of Crossroads Collective, including the purchase of this book, benefit those in Acadiana who suffer from homelessness, poverty, and hunger. For more information, visit www.

Letters to Women: Embracing the Feminine Genius in Everyday LifeRegular price $24.95 Save $-24.95
Together with women from across the country and all seasons of life, podcast host of “Letters to Women” Chloe Langr explores what it means to be a Catholic woman. Compiled together in these pages, you’ll find letters from ordinary women living vibrantly faithful lives, each inspired by the teachings of Pope Saint John Paul II on the feminine genius. Their stories profoundly illustrate that the feminine genius is not something women do, but rather something that is inherent to womanhood, and yet uniquely expressed by each individual woman. After all, the feminine genius is more than a buzzword to throw around in conversation; it’s meant to be lived out daily in every vocation.
The letters in these pages are from stay-at-home mothers, professionals, missionaries, and single women striving to offer the gift of their feminine genius to those around them amid widely varying situations. For one woman, living the feminine genius meant making the courageous decision to leave a fulfilling professional career to stay home with her first child. For another, it takes the form of continually pushing the boundaries of her comfort zone to live boldly for Christ. For another, it means drawing closer to Mary in all things. For every woman, welcoming the feminine genius means embracing her identity as a woman and living out the Catholic faith as God uniquely calls her.

Theology of Home II: The Spiritual Art of HomemakingRegular price $34.95 Save $-34.95
In this second installment of Theology of Home, Carrie Gress, and Noelle Mering turn their attention from the home itself to the art of homemaking.
Though there has been a resurgence in the domestic arts and a desire to live a simpler lifestyle, the role of a homemaker is still unpopular. Viewed as an unfulfilling and even oppressive way of life, many women feel a sense of shame or futility in managing the world of their home.
Theology of Home: The Spiritual Art of Homemaking turns this misguided notion on its head, shining new light on the role of a homemaker as it relates the deepest truths of the Faith with an honest and fearless understanding of the modern world. Rather than looking to the 1950s for inspiration, Gress and Mering forge a new path by looking at the gifts women can offer those they love.
Filled with beautiful photography and interviews with several inspiring women, The Spiritual Art of Homemaking examines:
- what makes someone a homemaker and how we can look at the role with fresh eyes,
- how the dots between our love for home and the role of caring for a home can be reconnected,
- how we can reorient our purpose from achieving power for ourselves to caring for others,
- how to bear fruit in the various ways in which God calls us,
- how to foster the qualities that make us particularly adept and skillful at creating a home,
- the nature of both physical and spiritual motherhood,
- ∙and how our Mother, the Church, gifts us the means to fulfill the role of a homemaker.
Whether single, married, or a working or stay-at-home mother, discover how to bring beauty, order, and vibrancy to the people and place you love most: Home.
