Patroness of musicians
St. Cecilia came from a rich family however, she wore sackcloth next to her skin, fasted, and invoked the intercession of the saints, angels, and virgins to guard her virginity, despite being given in marriage at a young age. It is said that during her wedding ceremony, she told her husband she took a vow of virginity. After his baptism, her husband returned to see an angel at his wife’s side, and St. Cecilia crowned with a chaplet of rose and lily protecting her virginity. St. Cecilia is the patroness of music because she heard heavenly music in her heart when she was married. After a painstakingly difficult execution and death, years later her exhumed body was found incorrupt, the first of all incorrupt saints.
