Charlene Richard, born in Richard, LA and known as the "little Cajun saint" was only 12 years old when she died of leukemia in 1959. Since then, many have considered her a saint. In January of 2020, Bishop J. Douglas Deshotel of the Diocese of Lafayette officially opened the cause of Charlene's sainthood. Charlene is named "Servant of God", which is the first step toward sainthood in the Catholic Church.
Written by Rev. Joseph Brennan and named for the first words Charlene Richard spoke to him, this book is a glimpse into Father Brennan's last two weeks by Charlene's side before her death, and her profound impact on those for whom she interceded during her battle with leukemia.
